The Release Candidate of GeneXus X Evolution 2 has been made available, thus increasing the impact of our multi-platform development tool for the creation of applications for smart devices (Android, Blackberry and iOS -iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch), while evolving its Web development features.
This stage has been reached thanks to the key role played by more than 1200 beta testers from over 500 companies, who have actively participated in this version's beta testing process. According to Fabricio de los Santos, Community member and beta tester of Evolution 2: “With this new version, GeneXus is providing us with a competitive advantage when it comes to developing smart device applications. Even though some details still have to be adjusted, I'd say that with this Release Candidate and our imagination we can create very interesting things that haven't even been envisioned by others in the market”.
Armin Bachmann (member of the support staff at GeneXus International), said that this Release Candidate stands out due to its enhanced performance and application generation for the latest Web technologies, which will translate into the need for fewer resources, increased usability and flexibility for the look & feel of the generated applications, as well as more power and usability when developing applications for mobile and smart devices. “Applications have already been deployed on the Web and Smart Devices. In addition to the feedback we've received from the beta testers, this gives us the necessary confidence to move forward to the final stages before release”. In this regard, he stated that “we’re now focusing on the fine-tuning that will allow us to release GeneXus X Evolution 2 in early 2012”, and invited the entire Community to continue taking part in this beta testing stage.
